Deemed the 29th most difficult golf course in America by Golf Digest, Rochelle Ranch is a sprawling 18 hole public course along Interstate 80 in southern Wyoming. Weaving through the rocky prairie brush the course challenges golfers to not only conquer its length (nearly 8000 yards from the tips) but also the strong westerly winds that are a constant presence…sometimes reaching 60+ mph. A unique and memorable experience for anyone living or passing through the area.

While watching the U.S Open at Congressional a short commercial popped up on the screen introducing one of golf’s newest innovations: Aerogolf’s Aerocaddie. Designed for those people tired of throwing blades of grass into the air or looking at the flag pin or tree tops to determine the wind’s direction, Aerogolf has created a miniaturized Windsock for your golf cart. Simply strap the sock to the top of your cart and bam(!)…you have instant wind direction readings.
Honestly, I think most people can live without this golf accessory (yours truly included). That said, I’m sure there are more than a few out there people out there which will find this item valuable for improving their golf game. And for a product that looks to be retailing for around $19.99 I wish I had reinvented the windsock for golf and was cashing in.
